Liam Sharp was and is one of the most sought after comic artists in the business. After bursting on the scene by drawing the bestselling Marvel UK title of all time, Death Head II, he was back in America illustrating top line comics like Superman, Batman and Spiderman as well as special projects for people like Stan Winston. For anyone unfamiliar with his amazing work, his galleries can be found on deviantART. I recently got lost for an entire day perusing a single file of his Conan illustrations.

Celebrate deviantART's 13th Birthday!
On the day of your birth, you were likely surrounded by those who loved you, who would lead you through the rough first scary years of life, and who would stand by as you grew into a capable person. As time passed, others may have drifted into your life, and even if you didn't know it, they also nurtured and cared for you in much the same way, helping to shape the person you would become.
When a community like deviantART is born, the same common thread binds its originators and founding members together. Over the years, more and more creative beings drift into its life and strengthen its core every single day, resulting in an exponentially in

Wednesday, Preview Night of Comic-Con

When the bustle of tourists in Downtown San Diego is replaced by the flailing of fandoms, and the street signs around the Convention Center have changed from English to Dothraki (not Klingon, like past years), you know it’s time for San Diego Comic-Con 2013!
Wednesday the 17th kicked off this year’s Preview Night, and energy was high as this year’s Comic-Con sprang into motion with a flurry of activity. Many attendees treat the three-hour preview as a time to scan the showroom floor, mentally map places to hit on the later dates, and, of course, buy the must-
Improving Communication on deviantART

A Creative Approach to Conversation
Sta.sh Writer has been integrated into comments on deviantART in the form of the new "Add Media" button. As you may know, Sta.sh Writer allows rich text editing of literature and journal deviatio

Not So Traditional Tuesdays #19
This article wasn't something I that had I planned on doing. Originally this was just a one off article because I was bored one day, and started typing in random search words. It is still fun to do though, so I think it will keep going until it no longer is.
I like to think that the things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see!
